Life can change in an instant. A tragic accident taught me how fragile it all is, shifting my perspective. Now, I choose to live fully, embrace the present, and appreciate each day with intention.

It was supposed to be a regular day on the water. But in one sudden, heartbreaking moment, it wasn’t. A tragic boating accident took the life of my friend—right there in front of us. There’s no real way to describe what it feels like to witness something like that at such a young age. The shock. The silence. The way it changes the way you see everything after.
People often assume trauma like that would leave someone fearful, closed off, or guarded. And for a while, I probably was. But over time, something else grew in me. A kind of promise.
The Lessons He Left Behind
My friend taught me more than most people do in a lifetime. Not through big speeches or planned advice—but through how he lived.
He taught me to live fearlessly. To be myself without apology. To love deeply, even when it’s scary.
Those lessons stuck. They still show up in the questions I ask myself:
Am I living a life he would be proud of?
Am I being true to who I am?
Have I told the people I love how I feel?
Have I done something bold, something that stretches me?
“Am I living a life he would be proud of? One that honors the lessons he taught me? I choose to live like it matters, right now.”
Choosing to Live With Heart
The accident didn’t give me clarity overnight. It gave me grief. It gave me confusion. And it gave me time to figure out what kind of life I wanted to lead in the wake of something so painful.
Eventually, I made a quiet promise to myself: I’m still here. And because I’m here, I’m going to live fully.
I chase the things that make me feel alive—travel, deep conversations, growth, connection. I say yes to new things, even when I’m scared. I lead with heart, because that’s what feels true.
This Is Just the Beginning
I’m a girl from a small town who sees the world with open eyes and an even more open heart. I don’t just travel for the views—I travel to understand different ways of life, to meet people with stories unlike mine, to grow into someone I’m proud of.
This blog is part of that journey. A place to share what’s real and maybe inspire you to reflect on your own.
